2015 Super-Bowl Sunday Structure Fire - Mutual Aid to West Ghent

February 1, 2015- Just before half-time during Super Bowl #49 firefighters from A.B. Shaw - Claverack were dispatched to assist West Ghent at a working structure fire at #313 Gahbauer Road in the Town of Claverack. Upon arrival firefighters were faced with an attached garage that was fully involved in fire and starting to spread to the main house.  Working with the other fire departments on the scene the fire was stopped before entering the main home.  The main house suffered some smoke damage and some exterior heat damage as well. Here Claverack Engine 12-1 can be seen drafting from the tanker-shuttle supplied portable pond and supplying the attack lines.

Claverack Engine 12-1 is shown drafting from a portable pond. The portable pond was supplied by several tankers that were themselves filled from suitable water sources some distance from the fire. The tanker from West Ghent is shown ready to empty its water into the portable pond.
