March 7, 2011 -- Firefighters were kept busy overnight and into the day on Monday dealing with the effects of a monster storm that brought flooding rains and heavy icing. The precipitation began as heavy rain on Sunday, but turned to sleet and freezing rain overnight, snapping trees and bringing down power lines. Flood waters and downed trees forced the closure of several roads making for a tricky morning commute on Monday. |
